KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — The Home Affairs Ministry (KDN) has clarified that Malaysia has not ratified the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman, or Degrading Treatment or Punishment (UNCAT) as it would necessitate amendments to existing laws in the country.

PUTRAJAYA, May 17 — Malaysia is participating in the Constructive Dialogue Session for the Presentation of the Periodic Report of the Sixth Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW), to be held from tomorrow until May 26 in Geneva, Switzerland.

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 29 — The Federal Court has set Sept 28 for case management of the leave to appeal application filed by the Association of Family Support and Welfare Selangor and Kuala Lumpur (Family Frontiers) and six Malaysian mothers against the Court of Appeal's ruling denying automatic citizenship to children born overseas to Malaysian mothers with foreign spouses.

PUTRAJAYA, May 10 — Malaysia has submitted the sixth periodic report on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) to the CEDAW Committee on April 25.
